01 What AlmaBot is

AlmaBot is a free, non-commercial Discord application built for a small community of Monster Hunter Wilds players. It keeps hunter cards, opens and closes hunt lobbies, and answers a handful of utility commands. Its only purpose is helping people organise hunts.

There is no paid tier, subscription, in-app purchase, advertising or fundraising. Nothing is charged for using it, and nothing is owed to anyone for using it.

02 Rights holders

All trademarks, game titles, character names, artwork and other intellectual property referenced by the bot or these pages remain the property of their owners. References are descriptive and nominative only. If a rights holder objects to anything here, contact the operator and the relevant material or the bot itself will be removed promptly.

03 Free, and provided as is

AlmaBot is provided at no cost, on a best-effort basis, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. There is no guarantee that it works, stays online, keeps your data, or produces correct results.

It is a hobby project, not a service with a support desk. No response time, uptime, or fix is promised.

04 Acceptable use

Use AlmaBot as intended. In particular, do not:

• spam commands, script it, or try to overload, probe or attack the bot or its infrastructure;
• attempt to access other members' data, the database, or any part of the system you were not given access to;
• publish other people's personal information through a hunter card, lobby or note;
• use it to harass, threaten, or break the law, Discord's Terms of Service, or Discord's Community Guidelines.

The operator may refuse, limit or revoke access at any time, for any reason, including behaviour that puts the bot or other people at risk.

05 Your content

You keep whatever rights you have in what you submit, such as your hunter name, notes and lobby text. By submitting it you allow the operator to store it and display it inside the bot to the people you are using it with — that is the whole of the licence granted, and it ends when the data is deleted.

You are responsible for what you submit, for having the right to submit it, and for not including anything sensitive. Do not type personal details into a hunter card.

06 Availability, changes and shutdown

Features may be added, changed or removed at any time without notice. Stored data may be lost, reset, or deleted — including through a migration, a hosting limit, or the database being cleared.

The operator may suspend or permanently shut the bot down at any time, for any reason, without notice or obligation. If that happens, these terms stop applying to future use, but sections 03, 07 and 08 survive.

07 Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, progress, items, hunts, time, profits or goodwill, arising out of or relating to AlmaBot — whether from downtime, errors, deleted data, missed lobbies, or anything else.

Where liability cannot be excluded, the operator's total aggregate liability for all claims relating to AlmaBot is limited to the amount you have paid to use it, which is zero (US$0.00). Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.

08 Indemnity

You agree to hold the operator harmless from any claim, demand, loss or expense (including reasonable legal costs) arising from your use or misuse of AlmaBot, from content you submit through it, or from your breach of these terms.

09 Discord's rules still apply

AlmaBot runs on Discord, so your use of it is also governed by Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. You must meet Discord's minimum age requirement — 13, or higher where your country sets a higher age of digital consent.

10 Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated by editing this page and changing the date above. Continuing to use AlmaBot after a change means you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the bot and remove it from your server.
